Common along foothills, lower slopes, scrub jungles even in poor soils, on bare exposed slopes. More abundant in the hills upto 1500m. Tropical and subtropical regions of the world.
Flower : Inflorescences with 1-5 flowers. Flowers on peduncles 6-40 mm long; corolla blue, rarely white, campanulate to subrotate, 5-6 mm long and wide.
Fruit : capsular, globose, 3-4 mm long, glabrous; seeds usually 4, pale brown to black, ovoid.
