Pothos scandens is a climbing tropical forest plant in the family Araceae. It is the type species of the genus Pothos. No subspecies are recorded in the Catalogue of Life.

The distribution of P. scandens is: Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China (Yunnan), Comoros, India (including Andaman and Nicobar Islands), Indonesia (Java, Kalimantan, Maluku, Nusa Tenggara, Sumatera), Laos, Madagascar, Malaysia (Peninsular, Sabah), Myanmar, Philippines, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

Flower : Densely packed; bracts 3-5, orbicular; stamens 6, free; ovary obovoid, stigma 3-toothed.

Fruit : Berries of the plant are oblong and 1.3-1.7 cm long and they are scarlet when ripe.

Ayurvedic usage : Snake bites, Wounds, Ulcers, Liver problems, Rheumatic fever, Malaria fevers, Smallpox, Asthma
